Katie Cerny first started dancing at the age of 3. She developed a passion for classical ballet and pointe when she was 11 and studied at Campaneria Ballet School in Apex, North Carolina, under the training of Miguel Campaneria. Katie performed the roles of Sugar Plum, Kitri, Swanhilda, and others in local shows. Katie has competed at Youth America Grand Prix, World Ballet Competition, and others , receiving multiple awards for classical ballet and contemporary dance. In 2022 and 2023, Katie attended summer intensive training at the Royal Ballet School in London and was a full-time student at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Germany. Katie came to Philadelphia Ballet as a Trainee in 2023 and joined Philadelphia Ballet II during the 2023-2024 season.
