Attracting ballet’s best students from across the country, School of Philadelphia Ballet hosts its annual five-week Summer Intensive Program (SIP) in Center City Philadelphia at the Louise Reed Center for Dance, home of Philadelphia Ballet. The Summer Intensive Program offers serious-minded ballet students high-caliber ballet instruction, including classical ballet technique, pointe work, men’s classes, partnering classes, variations, repertoire, flamenco, modern, contemporary, character, acting, and pilates/body conditioning. SIP students engage in health and wellness seminars throughout the 5 weeks, including sessions with a nutritionist, a physical therapist, a sleep expert, and more. Students will also learn about injury prevention and can engage with an onsite physical therapist. The SIP concludes with a student performance. Admission is highly competitive, and select students may be invited to attend School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Student and/or Professional Program.

School of Philadelphia Ballet’s SIP is followed by two popular and unique programs for advanced students ages 15 to 21: the Choreographic Workshop (July 29 – August 3, 2024) and the Company Experience with Angel Corella (August 5 – August 10, 2024). Each program involves a full week of intensive ballet instruction with world-renowned faculty. Company Experience students receive classes taught by Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director, Angel Corella, and Choreographic Workshop students prepare a premiere ballet with a renowned guest choreographer.

Students accepted into SPB’s summer programs and meeting the age requirement are automatically eligible to enroll in the Choreographic Workshop and Company Experience. These week-long programs can be attended independently or in tandem with SIP. Eligible students are encouraged to attend all programs for the ultimate Philadelphia Ballet experience.
