After completing 18 full-time seasons in 2024 as Senior and Principal Ballet Master with Dresden’s Semperoper Ballett—where she has played a key role in building and supporting the company since 2006—Laura is now sharing her vast knowledge with dancers around the world. Since 2000, she has staged William Forsythe’s ballets for leading companies worldwide while also serving as an international guest ballet teacher and coach.
During her 26-year performing career, Laura was a dancer with William Forsythe’s Ballet Frankfurt, performing leading roles in In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, Artifact, The Second Detail, and, most notably, in the original cast of The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and Neue Suite’s Handel 1 & 3. Previously, as a principal ballerina with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she performed leading roles in numerous classical ballets, including Swan Lake, La Bayadère, and Giselle (as Myrtha), as well as Luisa in John Neumeier’s The Nutcracker. She also performed neo-classical works such as Rudi van Dantzig’s Third Song of Four Last Songs, Juliet in his Romeo and Juliet, and George Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux. Her years in Canada involved approximately 20 weeks per season of domestic and international touring, performing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. She worked with numerous choreographers on new creations, exploring a repertoire that spanned from classical to contemporary. At the age of 25, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by competing in the Varna International Ballet Competition, where she received the top award. Beyond dance, Laura has enjoyed acting, singing, and working in film and cartoon dubbing. Always eager to explore new approaches and experiences, she holds certifications in Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis, Yin Yoga, and is a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre™ instructor. She also earned a German Theater Teacher’s certificate based on the Kyiv Vaganova syllabus. To keep her adrenaline flowing post-stage career and to further her understanding of gravity’s effects on the body, she has become a certified Rescue Scuba Diver and is currently training to become a glider pilot. Passionate about mentoring dancers in finding their own unique paths, Laura believes that when we understand the why, we can always discover the how.
Tatiana Kalistratova graduated with honors from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg (class of M.A Vasilieva) and received her higher education in pedagogy from Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of M.A Gribanova).
During her studies, she was among few students that were invited to perform numerous character soloist roles with the Mariinsky Theatre and Jacobsen Ballet. She has danced the entire classical and character repertoire with the Mariinsky Theatre, Alexandrinsky Theatre, Hermitage Theatre, and Kremlin Ballet in Moscow. During her years as a character soloist, Tatiana worked with some of the most influential character artists of the 20th century, including Irina Gensler, Anastasia Vasilieva, Anatoly Gridin, Elena Bazhenkva, Alexander Stepin, Polina Rassadina, as well as Yulia Makhalina and Farukh Razymatov. Tatiana’s unique approach and extensive background in character dance allow her to immerse students in the many intricate styles of character dance, such as folkloric, historical dance, and stylized classical character dance. She has been invited as a master teacher to several schools and institutions both within the U.S. and Russia. She has worked with elite level figure skaters and rhythmic gymnasts as supplemental training in the disciplines of ballet, conditioning, and character dance. Tatiana has coached multiple prizewinners of international ballet competitions and has sent students to some of the world’s finest ballet institutions.

In 1999, she was invited to dance with Le Jeune Ballet de France in Paris before joining the English National Ballet, where she remained for 5 years. In 2006, she entered American Ballet Theatre.
Ms. Saund has performed soloist and principal roles in every full-length ballet in the classical repertoire. She has performed leading roles in the works of George Balanchine, Mikhail Fokine, Anthony Tudor, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Jerome Robbins, Sir Frederick Ashton, and John Cranko, and has worked with and created roles for many of the greatest living choreographers, including Twyla Tharp, John Neumeier, Kevin McKenzie, Paul Taylor, Mark Morris, Jiri Kylian, Dwight Rhoden, Lar Lubovitch, James Kudelka, Benjamin Millepied, Christopher Wheeldon and Alexei Ratmansky.
