Audition for School of Philadelphia Ballet’s
2027 Summer Programs

Open to dancers ages 11-24

Join School of Philadelphia Ballet for our 2027 Summer Programs! Dancers are invited to audition through our national audition tour or by submitting a video audition.

School of Philadelphia Ballet will host in-person auditions in select cities across the country for our 2027 Summer Programs. Our 2027 audition tour schedule, locations, and registration information will be announced in November 2026.

APPLY BY VIDEO

Dancers who are unable to attend a live audition are welcome to apply by video. Video auditions will open in November 2026 and will be accepted on a rolling basis through May 1, 2027, subject to program availability. The video audition fee is $50.00 (non-refundable and non-transferable).

Video Audition Guidelines:

Video submissions should be no longer than 15 minutes. Applicants should begin with a brief introduction stating their name, age, date of birth, and current training institution.

Videos should include the following:

• Barre: A short barre showing plies, tendus, fondu, adagio, and grand battement. (one side only)
• Centerwork: Adagio, pirouettes en dehors and en dedans, petit allegro, and grand allegro.
• Pointework: Female-identifying students must demonstrate pointework, including one-legged relevé on both sides, échappé, and pirouettes.
• Male Dancers: Male-identifying students must include batterie and tours en l’air.

Video audition registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you would like to change your registration to attend an in-person audition, please contact the School Office at [email protected].

How to Register for a Video Audition:

1. Complete the JackRabbit registration form linked below. Once your registration is received, the School Office will manually process your audition fee.
2. Following payment, you will receive the Summer Audition Information Form by email, where you will submit your audition video and provide additional information about your dance training.

3. Audition results will be communicated by email within two (2) weeks of submission, beginning January 1, 2027. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Video audition registration will open in November 2026.

NATIONAL SUMMER INTENSIVE AUDITION (NSIA)

School of Philadelphia Ballet is proud to participate in the National Summer Intensive Audition (NSIA), joining more than 13 leading ballet schools from across the country to offer a collaborative audition opportunity. Through NSIA, dancers can attend a single in-person audition at our Philadelphia location and be considered for summer programs at participating schools.

The fee to participate in the 2027 NSIA audition tour is $150.00 (non-refundable and non-transferable). For more information about NSIA and participating schools, visit the NSIA website.

NSIA audition registration will open on Monday, November 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM EST.

ACCEPTANCE AND REGISTRATION

Audition Results:

• Live Auditions: Applicants will receive their audition results by email within two (2) weeks of their audition.
• Video Auditions: Applicants will receive their audition results by email within two (2) weeks of submission, with notifications beginning January 1, 2027.

Program Registration:

Admission to School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Summer Programs is highly competitive. Accepted dancers are encouraged to register promptly, as enrollment is processed on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Once a program reaches capacity, accepted dancers may add themselves to the waitlist. Summer Program participants may be considered for invitations to School of Philadelphia Ballet’s year-round Pre-Professional Program or Philadelphia Ballet II.
