Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which program is right for me?
Program selection and acceptance are primarily determined by age and experience.
- Dancers ages 11–24 should audition for placement in the Junior Summer Intensive, Summer Intensive, and/or special 1-week intensives. Current SPB students may register for eligible programs without audition.
- Younger dancers ages 3–10 may register directly for Children’s Camps, Classes, or the Summer Youth Program—no audition required.

My student is not quite the age of the program we’re interested in. Can they still register?
Dancers must meet the minimum age requirement by the start of the program.
When does registration open?
Registration for all 2026 Summer Programs opens on January 1, 2026. Registration is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged, as space in each program is limited.
Do I need to audition?
Auditions are required for the following programs:
- Junior Summer Intensive (ages 11–13)
- Summer Intensive (ages 12–21)
- Pas de Deux Intensive (ages 16–24)
- Classical Variations Intensive (ages 15–21)
- Company Experience (ages 15–21)
- Summer Intensive / New Jersey (ages 12-21)
SPB offers live, virtual, and video auditions for dancers ages 11–24. Dancers only need to audition once to be considered for all programs.

Can I defer my acceptance?
Acceptance is program-specific and non-transferable.
Do you accept international students?
At this time, SPB cannot accept international students who need a visa to work, study, or live in the United States. If you are currently unable to study or live in the US without a visa, we are unfortunately unable to consider you at this time.
Can I receive feedback after my audition?
We know feedback can be helpful for a dancer’s growth. While we’re not always able to provide individual feedback due to the volume of auditions, our artistic staff may be able to offer it in some cases. You can request feedback by contacting the school office at
[email protected], though we cannot guarantee a response.
