School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Summer Intensive is followed by two popular and unique programs, running August 1st through August 12th, 2022: the Company Experience for our advanced students ages 16 to 21 and the Choreographic Workshop for select advanced dancers. Each program involves a full week of intensive ballet instruction, with Company Experience students receiving classes taught by Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director Angel Corella, and Choreographic Workshop students working with Philadelphia Ballet company members.
Note that age ranges for these programs are approximate, and SPB will place students based on their individual ability levels. Students who auditioned for and were accepted into the Summer Intensive program do not need to audition for the week-long programs.
Please note that all students age 5 and up must be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 to attend programing at School of Philadelphia Ballet.
August 1, – August 5, 2022 | Ages Approx. 16-21 (Levels 6 & Above) | Tuition: $800
Following our annual Summer Intensive, the Company Experience offers an additional week of professional ballet instruction for dancers ages approximately 16-21. This program provides advanced students and young professionals a great way to be seen by Philadelphia Ballet’s artistic staff. Along with daily workshops, wherein students learn pieces from Philadelphia Ballet’s repertoire, the week also features classes taught by Artistic Director Angel Corella as well as members of the Philadelphia Ballet artistic staff. Company Experience will conclude with an informal showing on the last day of the program. Select students from Company Experience may be invited to attend School of Philadelphia Ballet’s full-year Professional Program.
August 8 – August 12, 2022 | Advanced dancers by invitation only | Tuition: $800
The Choreographic Workshop offers students the opportunity to be a part of the creative process. The program focuses on the creation of a new work by one of our company members exploring their choreographic vision. Students will have a daily technique lesson followed by a full day of rehearsals for the new work. Select students are chosen by audition faculty and invited to attend when they receive their Summer Intensive acceptance emails.
