School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Summer Intensive is followed by three popular and unique programs, running July 26th through August 13th, 2021: the Company Experience for our advanced students ages 16 to 21; the Choreographic Workshop for select advanced dancers, and Coaching with the Company Dancers for students ages 13 -21. Each program involves a full week of intensive ballet instruction, with Company Experience students receiving classes taught by Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director Angel Corella, Choreographic Workshop students working with Philadelphia Ballet company members, and Coaching with the Company Dancers students receiving daily private instruction on a variation.
Note that age ranges for these programs are approximate, and SPB will place students based on their individual ability levels. Students who auditioned for and were accepted into the Summer Intensive program do not need to audition for the week-long programs.
July 26 – July 30, 2021 | Ages Approx. 16-21 (Levels 6 & Above) | Tuition: $775
Following our annual Summer Intensive, the Company Experience offers an additional week of professional ballet instruction for dancers ages approximately 16-21. This program provides advanced students and young professionals a great way to be seen by Philadelphia Ballet’s artistic staff. Along with daily workshops, wherein students learn pieces from Philadelphia Ballet’s repertoire, the week also features classes taught by Artistic Director Angel Corella as well as members of the Philadelphia Ballet artistic staff. Company Experience will conclude with an informal showing on the last day of the program. Select students from Company Experience may be invited to attend School of Philadelphia Ballet’s full-year Professional Program.
August 2 – August 6, 2021 | Advanced dancers by invitation only | Tuition: $775
The Choreographic Workshop offers students the opportunity to be a part of the creative process. The program focuses on the creation of a new work by one of our company members exploring their choreographic vision. Students will have a daily technique lesson followed by a full day of rehearsals for the new work. Select students are chosen by audition faculty and invited to attend when they receive their Summer Intensive acceptance emails.
August 9 – August 13, 2021 | Ages Approx. 13-21 | Tuition: $800
Company members of Philadelphia Ballet are taking over! Join us for an exciting weeklong intensive sure to challenge, motivate, and inspire. The program features a full day of classes, including technique, followed by pointe, men’s class, contemporary, and body conditioning. The day concludes with a half-hour of private instruction on a variation from one of our company dancers. One the final day of the program we will hold an in-studio showcase, where students will perform the variation they received coaching on throughout the week.
