Meet Thays

Hometown: São Paulo, Brazil
Thays Golz began her training at the Raça Centro de Artes in Brazil under the direction of Roseli Rodrigues and Edy Wilson de Rossi. She also trained at the John Cranko Schule in Germany, after winning a scholarship from Youth American Grand Prix in 2011. In 2016 Thays won 2nd place in the Senior Age Division at the YAGP finals, and was offered a contract with Houston Ballet, where she danced for two seasons.

Thays joined Philadelphia Ballet, formerly Pennsylvania Ballet, for the 2018/19 Season, and was promoted to Demi Soloist for the 2019/2020 Season and then to Soloist for the 2020/21 Season. With Philadelphia Ballet, she has performed in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, La Bayadère, Giselle, Swan Lake, Apollo, and Petite Mort, as well as the world premieres of Yin Yue’s A Trace of Inevitability and Juliano Nunes’ Connection. In 2019, Thays performed at the Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition’s Opening Gala.
