What is a subscription?

A Subscription is a package of tickets to multiple ballets in our season as well as special seating and access perks. We have two subscription options available:

  1. Fixed Seat Subscriptions consist of four different ballets within the same season. Fixed Seat Subscribers select which performances they plan to attend and in doing so, guarantee their same seats year after year. When new seats become available, Fixed Seat Subscribers get first priority to upgrade. Fixed Seat Subscribers also get first access to The Nutcracker® and receive bonus tickets to bring friends or family to any show (excluding The Nutcracker®).
  2. Create You Own Subscription is an option where you can choose three ballets for any performance within the season. Create Your Own Subscribers enjoy the flexibility to choose the ballets, dates, and seats that suit them. Seats in this subscription are not renewable.


How can I buy a Subscription?

What are bonus tickets?

New in 2021, Fixed Seat Subscribers will receive one (1) free ticket to the performance of your choice with each subscriber seat purchased.  If you purchase two (2) subscriber seats, you will receive two (2) bonus tickets, and so on. These bonus tickets will be seated together but will not be located with your subscriber seats. However, you may utilize the exchange policy to move your subscriber seats and bonus tickets to be seated together. You may select any of the four (4) productions of the season, with the exception of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®.  You may also choose to use the bonus tickets for yourself to enjoy a different performance than that of your subscription if you’d like to see the same show twice! 


What if I need help purchasing my subscription or have additional questions?

I have a credit on my account from previously cancelled performances. Can I apply that credit towards a subscription?

YES! We will automatically apply your On Account Credit when you confirm your subscription order.  If your On Account Credit is more than the cost of your subscription, we encourage you to consider donating the balance to support the Artists Fund of the Philadelphia Ballet. 


Can I pay for my subscription in installments?

YES! Subscribers can choose to split the cost of a subscription into two (2) equal payments. Alternately, you may set up monthly payments. Each additional payment will incur a $5.00 fee. 


How do I make a change to my subscription?

Changes to performance dates, swapping out one (1) production for another, or moving your subscriber seats to be seated next to your bonus ticket seat locations can be done by emailing [email protected] or by calling the customer experience team at 215.893.1955 Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 5pm. 


How do I exchange my tickets?

Changes to performance dates, swapping out one (1) production for another can be done for not additional cost by emailing [email protected] or calling the customer experience team at 215.893.1955 Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 5pm. Additional fees for seat or performance upgrades may be required. 


Is George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® part of my subscription?

No, The Nutcracker® is only sold as single tickets, not part of the subscription.  However, Fixed Seat Subscribers have first access to purchase tickets to The Nutcracker® before it goes on sale. You can include that as an add on to your subscription when you purchase.
