Let your inner dancer shine! Whether you’re looking to indulge your passion, meet new people, immerse yourself in a new challenge, or push yourself with a great workout, School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Adult Program offers ballet classes for dancers ages 15 and up. Drop in or register for class ahead of time, we make it easy for you to learn the art of ballet with expert instructors in a safe and welcoming environment.

Rates:

Single Class: $20.00
Student Single Class: $17.00 (with valid student ID)
Class Pass: $125.00/month

 

Beginner Ballet

Beginner Ballet is for the student who has a working knowledge of ballet posture and positions, as well as foundational movements pliébattement tendu, and relevé. This class is also recommended for students returning to ballet from time away.

Tuesdays: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM


Advanced Beginner Ballet

Advanced Beginner Ballet is a great option for the student who has been actively taking ballet in recent years and understands ballet terminology and how a class runs. Classes will present gradual challenges to actively improve the student’s technique and artistry.

Wednesdays: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM


Absolute Beginner Ballet

The Absolute Beginner Ballet Class is designed specifically for adults with no previous dance experience. Whether you’ve always dreamed of dancing or are looking for a new way to stay fit and active, our classes provide a welcoming and supportive environment for you to start your ballet journey.

Thursdays: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM


Intermediate Ballet

Intermediate adult ballet class is for the student confident with classical ballet curriculum and strong ballet training. This class will work on furthering ballet technique, incorporating grand allegro, across the floor, and more complex combinations both at barre and in center. This class is ideal for the returning dancer or current dancers looking to supplement their training.

Saturdays: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

How do I register for class?

Advanced registration is strongly recommended to confirm your spot in class! You can register online through our website. Walk-in registration is available but subject to space availability.

What should I wear to class?

We recommend wearing comfortable, form-fitting athletic apparel that allows for a full range of movement. Hair should be secured away from the face. Please do not wear dangling jewelry. Ballet shoes are required for all ballet classes. For Flamenco classes, flamenco or character shoes are recommended.

Is there a locker room on site?

Please note that locker rooms are not available. We suggest arriving dressed for class and bringing a small bag for your belongings. Belongings can be stored in the designated storage areas in the lobby. Please do not bring any valuables to the studio. School of Philadelphia Ballet is not liable for any lost or stolen items.

Are there any prerequisites for joining adult ballet classes?

Our adult classes are designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. Each class is tailored to accommodate various skill levels, so everyone feels comfortable

What is the age range for adult classes?

Our adult classes are open to individuals ages 15 and up. Whether you’re a teenager or well into adulthood, our classes offer a welcoming environment for all.

Can I watch a class before registering?

We do not allow class observations to ensure a focused environment for our dancers. However, you are welcome to contact us at [email protected] to see if the class is the right fit for you.

What happens if I sign up for class but can’t make it?

If you are unable to attend a class, please notify us by emailing [email protected] at least 4 hours before the class start time to receive a class credit. Please note that refunds are not available.

Are student discounts available?

Yes. Students can redeem a drop-in rate of $17 with a valid student ID. To redeem this offer, email a copy of your student ID to [email protected]. You will receive a unique promo code to apply when registering for classes.

Are Class Passes available?

Yes. Class Passes are available at our Philadelphia location and include unlimited classes for the month purchased. Class schedules may vary by month. Consult the schedule for current availability. Credits and refunds are not available for Class Passes.
