5:00PM & 7:00PM Performances
Originally composed to introduce children to the orchestra, Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf has delighted audiences for generations.
Peter, a young scout, meets a host of charming creatures whilst exploring a great outdoors. He pays little attention to his grandfather, who warrens at the wilderness is dangerous. When a wolf appears, Peter must overcome his fears and save his animal friends.
Combining dance and puppetry, The School of Philadelphia’s Ballet’s Peter and the Wolf is an ideal ballet for first-time theater goers and audiences of all ages.
Philadelphia Ballet’s mission is to cultivate an enduring appreciation for dance through world-class performances, to inspire the next generation with exceptional education and professional training, and to connect with the community through meaningful and inclusive programming. In our continued partnership with Friends of Rittenhouse, Peter and the Wolf – Rittenhouse Square production is part of our award-winning Community Education and Public Program initiatives that share the love of dance with the city of Philadelphia by offering high-quality arts education activities free of charge.
