Join us for Philadelphia Ballet’s January Dance Legends Masterclass with Jennifer Smith-Borish!
In this free monthly masterclass series for local high school and college students, Philadelphia Ballet company dancers, alumni, and other notable dancers will offer high level dance education and exposure to multiple genres and techniques.
Jennifer Smith-Borish
Jennifer Smith-Borish began her dance training at age 3. She later attended high school at the University of North Carolina, School of the Arts; graduating a year early to begin her professional career with Pennsylvania Ballet (now Philadelphia Ballet) in 1993. She performed numerous principal roles during her 12 years with the company.
After retiring from Pennsylvania Ballet, Ms. Smith-Borish worked as a ballet mistress, with BalletX. Working with choreographers such as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Matthew Neenan, she rehearsed the company for a number of their performances. Jennifer spent the past nine years as Associate Professor, at the University of the Arts, in the School of Dance and the Brind School of Theater Arts. She has also been Philadelphia Dance Academy’s Principal Teacher for the past 15 years.
