Meet Sophie

Hometown: San Diego, California
Sophie Savas-Carstens began her training at Ballet Arte Academy of Classical Ballet in California, and attended summer intensives at The School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and San Francisco Ballet. She was a competitor in the 2018 USA Jackson International Ballet Competition.

Sophie joined Philadelphia Ballet II for the 2018-2019 season, and was promoted to Apprentice for our 2019/2020 season. With the company, she has performed in Angel Corella’s Giselle and Don Quixote, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces, and the world premiere of Garrett Smith’s Reverberance.
