Meet Jorge

Hometown: Madrid, Spain

Jorge Garcia Alonso began his dance training at age four. When he was six, he began his ballet studies at the Madrid Dance Center Academy under the direction of Ivan Barreto. Jorge obtained a scholarship at age 12 and joined the professional program of Madrid Dance Center, where he danced many classical repertoires. He also graduated from The Royal Conservatory of Mariemma in Madrid. In 2022 he attended The Royal Ballet School’s summer intensive and was offered a scholarship to Corella Academy’s Summer Intensive, under the direction of Carmen Corella. Jorge joined Philadelphia Ballet as an apprentice for the 2022/23 Season at age 16. He was promoted to the Corps de Ballet for the 2024/25 Season.

Fun Fact 

My first time on stage, when I was 4, I danced flamenco.
