Meet Ana Perez

Hometown: Mexico City, México
Ana Mendez Perez began her dance career at age four, with the Dance Academy in Veracruz. At age eight, Ana attended the National Classical and Contemporary Dance School (ENDCC) in Mexico City, where she performed with the National Dance Company for 8 years. Following a competition in 2019, Ana received a full scholarship from Professor Eriberto Veraldi to train in Verona, Italy. Ana is thrilled to join Philadelphia Ballet for their 2021-2022 season.

Participation for five years with the National Dance Company of Mexico (CND) for:

  • The Child Riding Asteroids, based on the Little Prince, choreography by Reyna Perez. Roles: Little Prince and Water.
  • Beauty and the Beast, choreography by Luisa Dias, ex-ballerina at the Bejart Ballet and the CND. Roles: Beauty, Nemesis, Erinia, Dryad (2017) Bellas Artes (2018)
  • Don Quixote, Act I, rehearsal teacher, Irma Morales, ex-prima ballerina at CND. Roles: Kitri, Kitri’s friend (2018)
  • The Nutcracker with Balleto di Verona as Clara.
