Upcoming Philadelphia Ballet II Performances

Grades served: 1st-12th, community members
Total served: 7,500
Schools served: PBII schedules approximately 20 performances and demonstrations per year in schools throughout Philadelphia, Camden, and surrounding suburban communities in both Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey

Philadelphia Ballet II (PBII) is a company of young professional dancers who perform at Philadelphia-area schools and other community venues, often free of charge. PBII dancers also regularly perform with the main company of Philadelphia Ballet, and are Philadelphia Ballet’s local ambassadors to Pennsylvania, both in the schools and on the stage.

PBII offers dynamic, interactive performances for school students, enabling them to experience the world of professional dance. Students observe a PBII company class, a rehearsal, and a 45-minute performance. Bringing together classical ballet and contemporary dance, these programs encourage audience participation, include a demonstration of ballet exercises, excerpts from the Company’s repertoire, and a Q&A session. Students come away inspired and excited, having made personal connections with the movement of ballet and the dancers.
