Meet Valeria

Valeria started her ballet training at Ballet Anna Pavlova in Bogotá, Colombia. There she trained under Jaime Diaz from 2013–2020. In 2020 she moved to Washington Dc to train at the Kirov Academy with a merit scholarship, where she had the opportunity to dance a large variety of repertoire from jazz, contemporary, and classical ballet. She also had the opportunity to attend several competitions where she received various accomplishments such as YAGP 1st place regionals 2021, YAGP top 12 finals 2021, YAGP 2nd place regionals 2022, Helsinki international competition 2022, and scholarships to several ballet schools. In 2022 she got awarded a full merit scholarship from 2022-2024 to Boston Ballet’s Professional Division at Walnut Hill. Valeria had the incredible opportunity to dance the role of Clara in Miko Nissinen’s Nutcracker, First Odalisque in Boston Ballet’s Next Generation, and Russian Girl in George Balanchine’s Serenade. Valeria attended summer programs with The Art of Classical Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Kirov Academy, Royal Ballet School, ABT, and Philadelphia Ballet. After attending Philadelphia Ballet Summer Intensive in 2024, they offered her to join Philadelphia Ballet as a trainee for the 2024-2025 season. As a trainee she danced in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, and Angel Corella’s Le Corsaire.

Valeria joined Philadelphia Ballet II for the 2025/26 season.
