June 20 – July 29, 2022

Attracting ballet’s best students from across the country, School of Philadelphia Ballet hosts its annual six-week Summer Intensive in Center City Philadelphia at the Louise Reed Center for Dance, home of Philadelphia Ballet. The Summer Intensive offers serious-minded ballet students high-caliber ballet instruction, including classical ballet technique, pointe work, men’s classes, and variations as well as contemporary/modern dance, character, Pilates, and body conditioning. In addition to an esteemed roster of permanent faculty and company members, Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director Angel Corella will be teaching the last week. The Summer Intensive concludes with an informal performance by six-week program students. Admission is highly competitive and select students may be invited to attend School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Professional Program.

School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Summer Intensive is followed by two popular and unique programs: The Company Experience (August 1st through August 5th) for our advanced students ages 16 to 21 and the Choreographic Workshop (August 8th-August 12th) for select advanced dancers. Each program involves a full week of intensive ballet instruction with Company Experience students receiving classes taught by Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director, Angel Corella, and Choreographic Workshop students working with Philadelphia Ballet company members on a new work of choreography. Students who auditioned for and were accepted into the Summer Intensive program do not need to audition for the week-long programs.

Please note that all students age 5 and up must be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 to attend programing at School of Philadelphia Ballet.
