SUMMER INTENSIVE

June 19 – July 22, 2023

Attracting ballet’s best students from across the country, School of Philadelphia Ballet hosts its annual five-week Summer Intensive in Center City Philadelphia at the Louise Reed Center for Dance, home of Philadelphia Ballet. The Summer Intensive offers serious-minded ballet students high-caliber ballet instruction, including classical ballet technique, pointe work, men’s classes, and variations as well as contemporary/modern dance, character, Pilates, and body conditioning. The Summer Intensive concludes with an informal performance by five-week program students. Admission is highly competitive and select students may be invited to attend School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Professional Program.

School of Philadelphia Ballet’s Summer Intensive is followed by two popular and unique programs: Choreographic Workshop (July 24th-July 29th) for select advanced dancers, and Company Experience (July 31st through August 5th) for our advanced students ages 15 to 21. Each program involves a full week of intensive ballet instruction with Company Experience students receiving classes taught by Philadelphia Ballet Artistic Director, Angel Corella, and Choreographic Workshop students working with Philadelphia Ballet company members and world renowned choreographers on a new work of choreography. Students who auditioned for and were accepted into the Summer Intensive program do not need to audition for the week-long programs.

Please note that all students must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 to attend programing at School of Philadelphia Ballet.
