Meet José

Hometown: Cali – Valle del Caucá, Colombia

José Luis began his training at the age of 7 years old in Cali Colombia, with Incolballet (Instituto Colombiano de Ballet) in 2013. In 2019 José receive a Scholarship for a summer intensive with FLYB (Fort
Lauderdale Youth Ballet) under the direction of German Dager. In the same year José contest in Pura Danza Internacional where he got the 2nd place at Classic and 2nd place in the whole competition. During
the pandemic José assist to Danso Academy his own academy. In 2021 José goes to FLYB for competition season, showcase, galas and scholarships.

In 2022 José contest in Yagp-semifinals Tampa and earned 2nd place in Senior Classical, José contest in UBC-Semifinals in Miramar and earned 1st Place in Senior Classical and 2nd in Senior Contemporary. Once again José contest in Yagp-Semifinals Boston and earned 1st Place Senior Classical men, 2nd Place Senior Contemporary men and 2nd Place in Pas de deux.

José contest one more time a Yagp Finals, reaching the second round. And one more time at UBC Finals earned 5th Place Classical in the whole competition and 10th in Contemporary. He receives his contract for PB2 here.

Fun fact

Jose loves to learn about everything, so in his free time he probably would be learning to play
instruments or something else.
